| WCF - Divisions of Powers and Labour Consultation (15th September 2009) | ||
At the WCF Council Meeting held in May 2009 a discussion took place regarding the relationship, powers and duties of the constituent parts of the World Croquet Federation (WCF). In particular, the practices that have developed since the inception of WCF do not to some observers, follow the requirements of the WCF Statutes, or, alternatively the WCF Statutes are deficient in adequately describing that relationship and division of various powers granted by the WCF Membership. The WCF Management Committee (WCFMC) were asked to consider these matters further and make recommendations to the WCF Membership for comment and possible future adoption of changes to the WCF Statutes. WCFMC has prepared a consultation document outlining the conclusions it has reached together with recommendations for changes to WCF Statutes and now wishes to obtain the views of the WCF Membership, to determine if the draft proposed changes: 1. are sufficient to identify the division of overall and day to day powers and labour; 2. enable the constituent parts of WCF to function in an orderly fashion. ALL WCF Member Associations have been asked to consider this report and feed-back their views no later than 31.12.09. This will enable WCFMC to consider the next step to implementing any changes. Individual croquet enthusiasts who wish to contribute are asked to send their submissions to their respective national croquet association. |

| Scotland appeals against the make up of the WCF World AC Team Championship (18th August 2009) | ||
"that while the team of “ This appeal has been remitted back to the WCFMC for their consideration. In addition, the SCA have proposed future action by way of referral to the WCF Council on the basis that the decision of the WCFMC to hold a WCF WTC at all was unconstitutional and "ultra vires". The WCFMC have been asked to consider an instruction under WCF Statute 109.3 to take that matter to a postal vote. WCF Secretary-General, Brian Storey said ”The appeal against the original WCFMC decision will take place first whilst consideration to the constitutional matter is given to either holding a WCF Council postal vote or awaiting a suitable time for the matter to be discussed at a future WCF General Meeting. Given there are no such meetings planned until probably 2012 it is expected that it will be decided that a postal vote will take place. The WCF WTC Committee has been fully appraised of the appeal, but it is expected that it will not delay continued planning for a 2010 WTC event, subject to the eventual outcome of WCF Council consideration”. |
