Bob Jackson
Inducted: 2008

Bob Jackson only started playing when he was in his mid 30s, and is still competing at a very high level at the age of 76 at both Association and Golf Croquet.Between 1979 and 1986 he was one of the world’s best players and known as an especially good match player.
"He developed a style of play which revolved around his strength at single ball shots which he hit with considerable power and accuracy. His example encouraged others to take a more aggressive approach by shooting rather than finessing to gain the innings.
"He was the first player to complete an octuple peel in tournament play. This was at the NZCC North Island Championships in 1987, and he completed a second one on the same day.
"His playing record includes 14 Open Singles titles, 11 Invitation Event titles, and membership of two successful MacRobertson Shield teams.
"Bob Jackson has manufactured good inexpensive mallets for over two decades, and has also supported the game by being one of the most prolific tournament entrants in the Southern hemisphere.
"He is well known for his calm unflappable demeanour, laconic style and dry sense of humour.
