David started playing Golf Croquet in March 2003 and at Association in 2006. He was the 2004 SACA National Handicap Singles Champion and in 2005 he won the Level Best tournament, a 19 point round robin tournament over 2 days, featuring the 12 best available players in South Africa.

In the same year he was the SACA Open Singles and Open Doubles champion.
In 2006 he was the SACA National handicap singles Champion.
