(Australia)
Doron took up croquet in 1999 when he retired. (In his previous life, his last position was as a Director of a University linked Business School). As a newcomer to the game, he, with his wife Jan, started a Club at Newport Beach, Sydney, NSW. The Club needed a referee and a coach, so Doron quickly filled the gaps. Doron and Jan moved to Beechworth, in NE Victoria, in 2002. Doron has been President of the local club almost since then. He and Jan primarily play Association Croquet, and travel extensively to enjoy the challenge and friendship found in tournament play. He's had only a few forays into Golf Croquet, but was runner-up in the 2000 NSW Open and a semi-finalist in the 2005 Australian Open Championships. He's looking forward with great enthusiasm to participating in the 2006 World Championships.
