Born: 1967 Tim King

Dr. Tim King is a professional engineer, who lives in Tamworth, England. He first played croquet as a child but, after living in the Netherlands and then Japan (each for four years), he started to move up a level when five years ago he responded to publicity for Ashby Croquet Club.

Season 2005 was the culmination of his journey to discover that Golf Croquet is a truly serious alternative to Association Croquet (one day he will make a more dedicated attempt to improve his handicap for the latter).

During the season, Tim played more ranking-eligible games than any other player and won both the Open and English National Championship Doubles in partnership with Roy Ware. (At national level, Tim's doubles record for the season was won 24, lost 6). He was runner-up in the Lancashire International Open.

Part of his success is to have a young family of three children and then to send them to Japan for nine weeks over the summer. He speaks Japanese (with the children and his wife), is Churchwarden of a large, historic church and enjoys photography. His ambition is not to be taking pictures of the World Championship Final.
