John is a member of the National Park Newcastle Croquet Club in New South Wales. He has been playing Association Croquet for    22 years and has won the Club Championship on 16 occasions. He has taken up Golf Croquet in recent years and won the New South Wales Singles Championship in 2007. He recently captained the first N.S.W. interstate Golf Croquet team and was runner up in the first official Australian Golf Croquet Championship. He is married to Glenda and has 5 children and 11 grandchildren. Other hobbies include chess, fishing , crossword puzzles and Sudoku.
