Martin MurrayMartin Murray can lay claim to all manner of croquet related things and other too. He's been there, done that, and has the oldest jumper in the game, circa 1963.

 

Born in Aberfeldy, Scotland, (the home town of Pontius Pilate of biblical fame), he started playing the sport in 1961 whilst studying at Cambridge University, England and has gone to represent it at the highest level as a player and administrator.

 

He has represented Great Britain 3 times in the MacRobertson Shield and Scotland more times than he cares to remember. He has played in the Croquet Association (of England) Presidents Cup and completed that events first sextuple in 1979. He also won the CA Men's Championship on four separate occasions.

 

He was Chairman of the CA Council 1987 - 1989 and is a past Chairman of the CA Laws Committee. He officiated at the 1st WCF world Championship in 1989.

 

A self confessed world expert on Oren Stein and Koppel Steam Locomotives, he worked as a Chemist at Bristol University.

 

Married with an actress daughter (Hannah Murray), he still leads an active tournament life.
