(Canada)
Born:
Louis discovered croquet as sport when he was almost sixty. Ever since he has enjoyed it in many ways. As a player he has had the occasional thrill of doing well in a tournament e.g. twice as runner-up in the Canadian Open (Association Croquet) and once as champion (for American Rules); also as champion of Toronto Open (3 times), Aboyne Open, Vancouver Open.
As servant of our sport, he has been president of Croquet Ottawa since
its start (15 years ago), Board member of Croquet Canada for nine years,
the last three as president. He has also served on World Croquet
Federation committees (Seeding Method Committee, Ranking Review
Since his retirement as professor of Mathematics he has studied mathematical aspects of ranking as a hobby interest and written several articles (posted on oxfordcroquet.com). He has also derived a lot of enjoyment from designing and building croquet mallets for my own use.
