John Prince

John is one of the legends of the game. He started playing in 1959 during which time he has won the NZ Open 8 times, NZ Mens 9 times, NZ doubles 11 times, NZ Invitation winner 8 times and perhaps most impressively, played in 9 MacRobertson Shields, winning in 1979 and 1986.

John is married to Sue and they have two adult sons. John works part-time for the Bank of NZ, Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse Trust and is a highly talented self-employed artist. He enjoys gardening, classical music, movies and watching sport, mainly on TV. John will draw support in his hometown wherever he plays.
