Sue began playing golf croquet in January 2006 after watching her youngest son Duncan play representative croquet. Sue saw this as an opportunity to get back into a sport since giving up golf due to back problems.

She works full time and took up golf croquet and is now in her second term as the Club Captain for Golf Croquet at the Mount Maunganui and Papamoa Croquet Club. Sue is very competitive and enjoys a good hard game and the tactics involved.

She has had varied local and national successes over the last 18 months including winning nine games (one win playing one arm after falling a breaking her wrist) out of 11 in the 2008 Gordon Smith Invitational.
