Chris Williams
(Wales) 
Born in Barry, Wales,
Chris first tried croquet at Oxford University. Six years later,
he returned to the game when the Dyffryn Croquet Club was founded
in 1986. In 1992 he made his international debut at the WCF
championships in Newport, Rhode Island. A regular Welsh international
and three times Welsh Champion, he has also won one of the coveted
'eights' trophies, the Spencer Ell, in 1994. In 2000, he led
the Welsh side to victory in the first World 14-point Team Championship
in Italy. Widely known as the compiler of the World Croquet
Rankings list, he has also developed an interactive rankings
website, which provides up to the minute world rankings and
which has enabled players all over the world to review their
playing record.
Chris returned to university in 2004 and finished his MSc last year and is now IT contract working in Bath on the iFACTS Air Traffic Control update project.
. His wide-ranging
interests include ice hockey, soccer, travel, wine, Vermeer
paintings and World War I.
