Two New WCF Trophies

Two important pieces of news about WCF trophies.

First, David Openshaw has very kindly offered to donate the "Openshaw International Croquet Shield"  for the Golf Croquet World Team Championship.   This will be the perpetual trophy for the 1st Division of the GC WTC that is being contested for the first time in Johannesburg this November.  Like the Macrobertson Shield for AC, the intention is to have a shield where the names of all the players in the winning team will be inscribed.  Many thanks to David for this very kind offer, which we are pleased to accept.

Second, the "Charles Jones Memorial Trophy" is being created for the WCF Women's AC World Championship, which will be first contested this October in Australia.  We would appreciate your help in calling for donations from the croquet playing world.  Rather than simply buying a trophy out of WCF funds, I am sure many of his friends in the croquet playing world will want to make a contribution to this memorial to Charles.  Please advertise this to your players, clubs and associations - and especially to anyone who knew Charles and will want to remember him.  We have set up a web page to accept donations, which may be of any amount.  You do not need a PayPal account to donate - you may also use any credit or debit card.  Thanks.
